The Minneapolis Tribune reporting on the allotment of funds for the creation of a park around Powderhorn Lake, April 26, 1890. It is indeed a very delightful park.

If you didn’t know, the Hennepin County Library has the Minneapolis Tribune from 1867 to 1922 in digital format and available online. This has been a resource I have been badly underutilizing, so in the similarly civic-minded spirit of Max Sparber’s Days and Nights in the Elliott P., I’ll make it a point to post neighborhood news items from the bad old days more often.
