Alleys and clouds. Those are my favorite things to look at in Minneapolis. Huge, prairie skies with clouds ten miles high, and short, straight, dingy little alleys full of cars, trash, and the the backs of houses on tiny, crowded early 20th century Minneapolis lots.
My favorite thing about the alleys is that they have no names. Someday I will create an alley atlas and unilaterally name every alley in Minneapolis, as Ricciolo named the features of the moon.
